Machine embroidery designs, checked before they are recommended

Every design listed here was opened and checked: the hoop sizes, the stitch count, whether it was digitized by hand or run through an auto-digitizer, and the price as the product page lists it. Nothing is recommended from a thumbnail.

Each collection below is sorted by how long a design takes to stitch, not just by how it looks — because a 4,000-stitch motif and a 45,000-stitch showpiece are not the same evening.

How to read the listings

Stitch count is the number to watch. A home machine runs roughly 600 to 800 stitches a minute, so 6,000 stitches is about ten minutes of machine time and 40,000 is closer to an hour, before thread changes.

Hoop size is listed for every design. If your machine only takes a 4x4 hoop, the light designs at the top of each page are where to start.

Hand-digitized means an embroidery designer punched the stitches rather than a program converting an image. Auto-digitized files are cheap to produce and usually stitch badly — any design on this site that was auto-digitized was left out, and there is a note on the page saying so.
